Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry — a lifelong academic ID for students, generated with parental consent.
APAAR is intended to hold a student's academic records across their education. Generation requires parental consent; schools should keep a consent register and treat a parent's decision to decline as a legitimate choice. Boards such as CBSE ask for the APAAR ID, or the reason it isn't available, in registration and candidate lists.
