Useful AI, inside rules a school can live with
Teachers spend hours on work that is necessary but repetitive: writing fresh questions every term, composing forty different remarks for a class, drafting the same kind of circular again. AI is good at first drafts of exactly these things. What schools rightly worry about is AI that acts on its own, uses student data carelessly, or quietly runs up a bill.
SSMS takes a human-in-the-loop approach. AI only ever produces a draft: a question saved for review, a remark a teacher edits and saves, a notice someone approves. Nothing is published, marked or sent by AI on its own.
Your keys, your control
Each school adds its own AI keys — Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude or any OpenAI-compatible service — stored encrypted and shown masked, with one default, the purposes it may be used for, and a test button. Every call is logged with the tokens used, so the cost is visible. Using AI is a separate permission, not given to every teacher by default.

01Question generation
Draft questions for a class, subject, topic, learning outcomes, type, marks, difficulty and Bloom level. Only drafts that pass the bank's checks are kept, tagged "ai", and reviewed like any other question.
02Report-card remarks
Draft a personal remark from the student's result, strongest and weakest subjects, attendance and shared observations; the class teacher edits and saves, and the card notes it was AI-assisted.
03Notices and messages
Draft circulars and parent messages from a short brief, in English or an Indian language, for a person to edit and send.
04Several providers, one switch
Gemini, OpenAI, Claude or a compatible service; choose the default and what each key may be used for.
05Usage log and permissions
Every call logged with tokens; AI features are separate permissions so costs stay under control.
06No silent decisions
