A school ERP holds the most sensitive data a school has
Children's names, photos, addresses, health records and Aadhaar numbers; parents' phone numbers; staff salaries and bank accounts. A breach is a serious matter for families, and data protection law in India now expects schools to look after this data responsibly.
SSMS controls access with roles, permissions and data scope. Permissions are fine-grained — for example viewing a fee receipt, collecting a payment, approving a refund — and a user's data scope limits which schools, classes or sections they can see. A teacher marks attendance only for their own sections; a parent sees only their own children. Direct grants and denials are visible, and you can always see why a user has a permission.
Sign-in, sessions and an audit trail
Two-step verification, password policies, failed-login protection and device sessions are standard; by default a user can be signed in at one place at a time, and signing in elsewhere signs the earlier session out. Sensitive identifiers are encrypted and masked. Important actions — fee changes, refunds, mark edits, record changes — are recorded with old and new values, the user, time, device and reason. Backups are encrypted, verified and periodically restore-tested.
